Country Dance Club
Thaxted Country Dance Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month over the autumn, winter and spring. Starting on the third Tuesday of September, finishing in June. We charge £2 per session.
All ages and abilities of dancers are welcome. We meet in the Church Hall, Margaret St.
The dances are taught by Bobby Ritchie and walked through. Music is provided by a band of local musicians led by Simon Ritchie.
We dance a range of country dances, some easy and some very challenging which can take us many weeks to learn. New members are always welcome and the only requirement is that you are willing to have a go.
The 2012 event is now over and was a great success.
Plans for 2013 are well advanced. The dates are 15th & 16th Feb. Theme for the weekend is NORTH MEETS SOUTH
Again we are holding a Barn Dance from 7.30 pm to 11.30 pm on 15th Feb. We expect to have The Threlfall Band with Sid Calderbank calling. There will be light refreshments. Tickets £10 each.
The Concert is at 7.45 pm on 16th Feb. We hope to have Pete Coe, Sandra Kerr with Peter and Barbara Snape. Tickets £10. Nibbles only provided.
New in 2013 will be a Song Workshop with Sandra Kerr from 11 am - 1 pm followed by lunch.
Then a dance workshop from 1.45 - 4 pm with Pete Coe, followed by tea.
Tickets £7.50 each workshop or £10 for both.
We are also offering supper and a session between the workshops and the concert. Cost of this is included in the All Saturday events ticket @ £25 Or the whole weekend ticket @ £32.

All events take place in Bolford Street Hall, our Village Hall. Address is Bolford St, Thaxted, CM6 2PY - for sat nav users. There is limited parking at the hall, but suitable for camper vans. Other parking is available in the town. Largest being in Margaret Street CM6 2QN will find it.
