Diamond Jubilee Events in Thaxted
Diamond Jubilee 2nd-4th June 2012
A small committee has been formed to organise the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Thaxted.
The group is hoping to organise many events during the Bank Holiday weekend, including the following:
· Saturday 2nd June-Town Street -family street party, all local children and their families
welcome, live music under the Guildhall. Time 3 - 4.30pm
· Saturday 2nd June-Town Street - Local bands under the Guildhall 4.30 - 7 pm
welcome, live music under the Guildhall. Time 3 - 4.30pm
· Saturday 2nd June-Town Street - Local bands under the Guildhall 4.30 - 7 pm
. Sunday 3rd June - Ecumanical Service in Parish Church 11 am
· Monday 4th June- Over 70s lunch at the Parish Church, 1 - 3 pm.
· Monday 4th June- Windmill-Live music, bar, hog-roast. 6.30 - 11.30 pm
. Beacon lighting 10 pm

The working group would like the Town Street Party to be the only one in Thaxted on that day and we hope that local residents will support the planned events. As the working group is striving to provide the events free of charge there will be plenty of fundraising events in the coming months including a possible coffee morning at Parrishes Wine Bar in December. There are also plans in place to provide every Primary aged child in Thaxted with a commemorative gift.
