The UDC housing distribution strategy is being finalized and if the District Council agrees to adopt the ‘preferred approach’ future development will be focused largely on Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow and the six key villages in the District (Elsenham, Stansted, Newport, Great Chesterford, Thaxted and Takeley). It is anticipated that Thaxted will be expected to accommodate in the region of 60 new homes. The next stage of the Consultation will run from 8th June to 3rd July 2012 and a public exhibition will take place in Thaxted at the CIC on Friday 22nd June from 10am to 8pm.
