THAXTED MARKET

Regular stalls include Fruit & Vegetables, Groceries, Wet Fish, Bread and specialist Patisserie, Baskets, Garden ornaments and artificial flowers, Plants, Cheese, Greek, French & Spanish specialities, and Household items.

The Market operates every Friday from 7 am to 2 pm.

In accordance with its powers under Sections 50, 52 and 53 of Part III of the Food Act 1984, Thaxted Parish Council took over the running of the Market on 1st January 2008.   Its routine administration is by way of the Thaxted Market Sub-Committee, which is responsible for its control and regulation, and in the requirement to manage what goods are sold and who should sell them.   It is considered important that stalls do not conflict with the interests of the shopkeepers of Thaxted.
